My Top 10 Video Games of All Time

October 17th, 2007

To encourage some commenting and get to know our readers a little better I thought I would post my top 10 favorite video games of all time. I didn’t include any MMORPGs on my list because they are a sort of love/hate relationship.

  1. Baldur’s Gate 1 & 2 (PC)
  2. Secret of Mana (SNES)
  3. Soul Calibur (Dreamcast)
  4. Chrono Trigger (SNES)
  5. Zelda: The Ocarina of Time (N64)
  6. Super Metriod (SNES)
  7. Fallout 2 (PC)
  8. Final Fantasy Tactics (PS)
  9. Resident Evil 4 (PS2 or Wii)
  10. Mario 64 (N64)

Honorable mentions (games I played the mess out of that weren’t quite good enough to make the list): Shadow of the Colossus (PS2), Tony Hawk Pro Skater 2 (PS), Guitar Hero 2 (PS2), Halo (Xbox), Final Fantasy VII (PS), Devil May Cry 3 (PS2).

What is your top 10? Leave it in a comment!

Mike’s Top 10 Video Games Of All Time

Before I get to this list I should tell you that I’m not a PC gamer…I wasn’t blessed by my parents with a PC until I was almost 17, and that little powerhouse measured its clock speed in MHz. Not exactly a Pentium. It did however help me get my homework done way faster, allowing me to spend way more time playing the hell out of these amazing console games:

1. Chrono Trigger (SNES)
2. Panzer Dragoon II (Sega Saturn)
3. Tomb Raider (PS1/Saturn)
4. Metal Gear Solid (PS1)
5. Panzer Dragoon Saga (Sega Saturn)
6. Xenogears (PS1)
7. Soul Calibur (Sega Dreamcast)
8. Final Fantasy IX (PS1)
9. Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater (PS2)
10. Star Fox (SNES)

My picks here are somewhat of a “Desert Island” list, and they’re not really in order after Number One. Better games were edged out based solely on my level of the warm and fuzzies, and this list could change from day to day since it is really tough to pick favorites.

I like Joe’s list, I cant believe he put Tron 2.0 so high on it.

I loved the multiplayer times we shared in that, Joe.

No one else thought Mario rpg was super badass?!

A top ten list can’t have every badass game.

I have room for one JRPG and Chrono Trigger edges out Mario. I’m sad I couldn’t fit Sam & Max or Day of the Tentacle in there.

And Nate, someday we must again through virtual frisbees at each other.
